To effectively carry out its various functions, the CAI relies on the support of seven commissioners-one of whom chairs the CAI-appointed by at least two-thirds of the members of the National Assembly. This method of appointment enables commissioners to carry out their duties in a context of neutrality with regard to executive authority.
